If there is one world leader the Palestinian Authority openly loathes and mocks, it is Donald Trump. As the world awaits the official announcement of Trump's election victory, here is PMW's review of some of the PA demonization and mocking of Trump since his first election campaign (2016) and presidential period 2017-2021.

Recent statements show that the PA is consistent in its hate of Trump. Two days ago, Palestinian Media Watch exposed that the PA sees Trump as "one who will exceed Hitler," while Abbas' Fatah Movement in 2017 said there is "no difference" between Trump and Hitler:

Every year on the day of his death, the PA and Fatah celebrate arch-terrorist Abu Jihad as a great Palestinian leader and role model. On several occasions, the PA has proudly bragged that Abu Jihad was responsible for the murder of at least 125 Israelis in terror attacks. This year, the US-propelled “revitalized” PA is no different. Terrorists are still the PA’s ultimate role models.

1) Abu Jihad

\n\n

Abu Jihad was the mastermind of the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history prior to Hamas’ massacre on Oct. 7, 2023. In the “Coastal Road massacre,” a group of Fatah terrorists hijacked an Israeli bus with civilians and murdered 37, including 12 children.

\n\n

To Fatah, Abu Jihad is “a lofty example of sacrifice, daring, and self-sacrifice,” and PA Chairman Abbas’ movement pledged again this year that it will continue to follow terrorist Abu Jihad’s “principles” and “draw inspiration from his opinions and ideas”:

To stress its appreciation for Abu Jihad and his terror attacks, Fatah posted a video of him encouraging terror, using the PA euphemism “self-defense by all means”:

The timing of the rebroadcast of this particular video in which Abu Jihad calls for continued “self-defense by all means” is significant. The PA leadership, including Mahmoud Abbas, the PA prime minister, and Abbas’ advisor, have all defined the Oct. 7 atrocities as “self-defense”:

2) Dalal Mughrabi

\n\n

Another celebrated PA hero and role model is Dalal Mughrabi. She led the group of Fatah terrorists from Lebanon who carried out the murder of 37 people in the Coastal Road massacre in 1978. As with other terror attacks, in order to justify the murders and to enhance its image as being successful in terror, the PA falsely claimed that the dead Israeli civilians were all “soldiers” and exaggerated the number of Israeli victims, claiming that “hundreds on the Israeli side were killed and wounded”:

In both its official publications, the PA printed a long article praising murderer Mughrabi for “her daring and her courage” and her “devotion to Palestine.” (See full text below):

Presenting the eagerness to murder Israelis as an admirable quality, the PA described the terrorists as ”competing” to be chosen to participate in the attack, and “first among them Dalal Mughrabi, who was 20.” As on TV, here too the PA lied, saying the dead Israeli civilians were “soldiers” and that they numbered in the “hundreds.”

Marking murderer Mughrabi’s death during the attack, Abbas’ Fatah Movement stressed Mughrabi’s “will” and directive to all Palestinians to continue to fight Israel and “escalate the conflict against the Zionist enemy”:

3) Marwan Barghouti

\n\n

A third Palestinian hero is imprisoned terrorist and PA Parliament Member Marwan Barghouti, who is serving 5 life sentences for orchestrating 3 shooting attacks in which 5 people were murdered. While imprisoned, he was re-elected to the PA parliament and elected to Fatah's Central Committee. On the date of his arrest, the PA and Fatah praised him as “a clear national symbol and an inspiring model of struggle for the masses of our people” as well as “a prominent symbol on the path of national struggle.” Fatah also stressed Barghouti’s involvement in the two terror waves—the intifadas—in which Palestinians murdered over 1,300 Israelis:

Palestinian Media Watch reported last year that at a rally in honor of Barghouti, Fatah played one of Barghouti’s speeches in which he urged terror and praised several terrorists and terrorist murderers, including Hamas founders Ahmed Yassin and Al-Rantisi, Abu Jihad, and Hamas bomb-maker Yahya Ayyash “the engineer.”

Fatah also didn’t miss the opportunity to mark another attack planned by Abu Jihad: The Savoy Hotel “operation.” Here too, terrorists sailed from Lebanon and took over the Savoy Hotel in Tel Aviv, killing 3 and taking hotel guests and staff hostage. When Israeli forces carried out a rescue operation, the terrorists murdered 5 hostages and 3 soldiers. Here too, Fatah exaggerated the number of Israelis killed, claiming “more than 100”:

Fighter Mughrabi was born in 1958 in one of the Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut. She was the daughter of a family from Jaffa that escaped to Lebanon following the 1948 Nakba (i.e., “the catastrophe,” the Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel)…

\n\n

She decided to join the ranks of the Palestinian revolution and to act in the ranks of the self-sacrificing fighters (Fedayeen) in the Fatah Movement while still a student. She took many military courses and received lessons in guerilla warfare, during which she trained with different weapons. While taking these courses, she became known for her daring, her courage, her well-developed national sentiment, and her devotion to Palestine and Fatah.

\n\n

The assassination of the three Fatah leaders Kamal Adwan, Kamal Nasser, and Abu Yusuf Al-Najjar (i.e., terrorist organization leaders responsible for the deaths of many Israelis) by the Israelis in 1973 had a negative impact on Dalal. In addition, the incessant and despicable aggression against the refugee camps caused her a feeling of bitterness, as did the wretchedness in which her family lived – like the rest of the residents of the refugee camps – as a result of their forced leaving, which would not have taken place if not for the occupation of her land – Palestine – by Israel. For this reason, Dalal – like the rest of her friends and partners in grief from among the residents of the refugee camps – began to be struck by negative and stormy feelings, which gave birth to a determination within her to carry out an act that would satisfy her desire [for revenge].

\n\n

The Deir Yassin squad (i.e., Mughrabi’s terror cell) presented the plan to Martyr commander Khalil Al-Wazir 'Abu Jihad' (i.e., terrorist, responsible for the murder of 125 Israelis). The plan was based on a landing operation on the Palestinian coast, taking over a military bus, and setting out in the direction of Tel Aviv in order to attack the Israeli Parliament building (a building which is located in Jerusalem –Ed.). The self-sacrificing fighters competed among themselves to participate, and first among them Dalal Mughrabi, who was 20. She was selected to lead the squad that would carry out the operation, which was made up of 10 self-sacrificing fighters.

\n\n

The operation was known as the 'Kamal Adwan' operation, and the squad was known as 'Deir Yassin.’

On the morning of March 11, 1978, Mughrabi disembarked from a boat passing opposite the Palestinian coast together with her squad…

Dalal and her squad succeeded in reaching Tel Aviv (sic., the terror squad never reached Tel Aviv) and took over the bus with all of its soldier passengers (sic., only civilian passengers were on the bus), while outside the bus the battle continued with other Israeli soldiers. Hundreds on the Israeli side were killed and wounded (sic., 37 murdered and 70 wounded), and in light of the heavy losses, the Israeli government assigned a special military unit – commanded by Ehud Barak (then military commander and later prime minister of Israel –Ed.) – to stop the bus and kill and arrest its passengers (sic., apparently meaning the terror squad). The U.S.-funded PA General Intelligence gave grants to families of imprisoned terrorists “from the [PA] General Intelligence”

After Palestinian Media Watch exposed in US Congress in 2011 that the PA pays salaries to terrorists, most Western countries eventually cut off funding of the PA’s general budget and instead gave money for specific projects, such as education. However, one Palestinian framework has remained a recipient of Western money and was also excluded from the limitations of the Taylor Force Act, which prohibits American funding of the PA. That framework is the PA Security Forces.

The U.S. State Department said that in 2002, it provided $45 million to the PA security sector:

Now the PA reports that the Western-funded General Intelligence Service of the PA Security Forces gave a special grant to precisely those terrorists whom the West is trying not to fund—the convicted Palestinian terrorists and dead terrorists. Worse still, the recipients are terrorists who are members of the PA General Intelligence Service who used their training and weapons from the U.S. to perpetrate terror against Israel. The decision to give the grants to the terrorists was made by the head of the PA General Intelligence Service, Majed Faraj, who is presented internationally as a “moderate” who cooperates with Israel in fighting Palestinian terror. Yet instead of punishing those members of the PA Security Forces who turned to terror, Faraj decided to give them an extra reward:

To sum up, the U.S.-funded PA General Intelligence Service is giving grants to convicted terrorists from among the General Intelligence, and new recruits to the PA Security Forces are being trained in U.S.-built facilities. In other words: U.S. money is going directly to convicted terrorists while the U.S. is training aspiring terrorists.

Hamas’ massacre of Israelis on October 7 shocked everyone in Israel and abroad. So did the brutality of the attack, the cruelty of the murders, and the inhumanity of the torture.

But there were warnings, and the slaughter of at least 1,200 Israelis, the wounding of over 4,800, and the kidnapping of at least 238 hostages should not have come as a surprise.

Through the prism of Hamas’ massacre and attack on Israel on Oct. 7, the statement by Hammad in 2019 now looks like a chilling forecast. Hammad’s words also stress that Hamas’ goal – as the terror organization states in its charter – is to destroy Israel and kill all Jews, not only in Israel but in the entire world.

But Hamas is not alone in this goal. Palestinian Media Watch has exposed numerous statements by PA and Fatah officials that prove they share the goal of Israel’s destruction.

The PA has likewise been making genocidal threats for years and justified killing of Israelis and Jews. For example, PA Chairman Abbas’ advisor on Islam, Mahmoud Al-Habbash, who Abbas appointed to be the Supreme Shari’ah Judge, explained to Palestinian viewers of official PA TV that Islam explicitly calls to “kill” people who “attack my home... my land... my homeland... my property... my honor,” all crimes the PA accuses Israel of committing:

Similar calls and teachings have been disseminated by PA officials saying that Jews are Satan in human form, humanoids, apes and pigs, evil, human waste, and that Palestinians therefore are justified in killing them and that Islam even wants it.

During the current war, the next generation of PA leaders – members of Fatah’s Student Movement - have been calling on Allah to murder Jews, while the PA has instructed preachers in mosques to teach that killing of Jews is an Islamic imperative.

PMW has accessed a Telegram channel created to commemorate the child terrorist, which published a screenshot of a chat he had with a friend anticipating his “Martyrdom-death.” Al-Ra’i’s messages to his friend show that he hoped and even planned to “die as a Martyr for Allah.”

The short song Al-Ra’i sent to his friend incorporates two PA messages to Palestinian children:

“Division according to areas and times” refers to a submission of a “private bill” by Israeli MP Uri Ariel in March 2003. The bill suggested ensuring freedom of religious worship by allowing both Jews and Muslims to pray on the Temple Mount - what the Palestinians call the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza. The bill sought to designate separate prayer times and areas of the site for Muslims and Jews. The bill never progressed past the initial legislatory stage. While there was additional discussion on the subject in 2012, no legislation was ever passed.

In response to the incessant PA claims that the “division according to areas and times” of the Temple Mount is an operative Israeli plan, former Israeli PM Netanyahu stated on many occasions that the Israeli government has no intention of ‎changing the so-called status quo on the Temple Mount, which de facto is interpreted to mean Jews are only allowed to enter the Temple Mount, but not to conduct individual or communal prayers there.

In July 2021, former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett said Muslims and Jews have freedom of worship at the Temple Mount, which was understood by many as a hint to changing the status quo at the site, but the following day his office backtracked and said he misspoke and did not mean Jews would have freedom of worship, but rather would have freedom to visit. “There is no change in the status quo,” a statement from PM Bennett’s office confirmed.

Planning to put himself in a situation that would lead to his death, he explained in the will how he would like to be buried – “among children like himself” – a clear reference to other child and teen Martyrs. Yamin also requested they don’t put him in a refrigerator in a morgue because “he cannot stand cold” and encouraged friends and relatives “to always visit him and sit next to his grave”:

Sports not only promotes health and wellbeing but also can further peace building and constitute a bridge between people. However, in the PA, anti-Israel political goals are again being prioritized ahead of the welfare of individual Arab athletes and Arab children as well, as a new campaign prohibits building peaceful relations.

Many Arabs have been successful in Israeli national sports. For example, many play football on Israeli national league teams and a number play on the national team. The team captain, Bibras Nathko, is from a Circassian-Israeli Muslim family. An Israeli Arab Paralympic swimmer, Iyad Shalabi, recently won a gold medal for Israel in Tokyo.

PA TV also promoted a statement by the organizers of the anti-normalization campaign. It addresses “parents and children” in Jerusalem, and shames “male and female athletes” who have joined Israeli clubs and participated in competitions “under the flag of the occupation state.” By doing so, these athletes are “legitimizing and recognizing” the existence of Israel “on the land of Palestine,” says the campaign, while calling on Arabs to “wake up” these athletes and “bring them back to the straight path”:

Participating in teams of the occupation clubs is a confirmation and legitimization of the occupation entity and ignores the racist positions against Jerusalem, its people, its clubs, and its sons. Moreover your participation in the Israeli clubs and in the framework of [Israel’s] association tournaments is recognition of it and of its existence inside the city and on the land of Palestine, which is considered a free service for the Israeli occupation.

Sadly this initiative doesn’t stand alone, but is an expression of PA policy that forbids normalization with Israel in general and in sports in particular. One of the most adamant speakers against normalization in sports is Jibril Rajoub who heads the PLO Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. He also holds the position as Fatah Central Committee Secretary. Countless times Palestinian Media Watch has exposed that Rajoub has publicly denounced joint sports activities with Israel, threatened to exclude Palestinian athletes if they were to participate in any sports activities with Israeli athletes, and called for a boycott of Israel in sports in general.

One of Rajoub’s most infamous statements against joint sports activities between Palestinians and Israelis was when he condemned a very successful peace building football match between 11-year-old boys, calling it a “crime against humanity”:

PMW detailed Rajoub’s statements against normalization in the report The Rajoub File, which also details his support for Palestinian terror and admiration for Palestinian murderers. PMW’s exposure of Rajoub, who is also the chairman of the Palestinian Football Association, and PMW complaints to FIFA that he was in breach of FIFA’s Disciplinary Code led to FIFA fining him and suspending him for a year. PMW has recently submitted its second complaint against Rajoub to the International Olympic Committee, for violating Olympic Committee bylaws. PMW is still awaiting the Olympic Committee’s ruling.

During Hamas’ war against Israel in May, Israel condemned Hamas for using civilians as human shields. During the war, the PA and Fatah supported Hamas’ terror campaign and even encouraged Palestinians and Israeli Arabs to riot against Israeli civilians.

However, a few months later, Fatah is acknowledging that the Hamas war tactic was immoral because they used civilians including children as human shields.

\n\n

A striking example of this is Fatah’s posting the above cartoon on the official website of the Fatah Commission of Information and Culture. Accompanying the cartoon showing Hamas using an infant as a shield, are the words "Without explanation." [Website of the Fatah Commission of Information and Culture, Aug. 29, 2021]

Similar criticism was expressed by Fatah in this cartoon depicting a man with “Hamas” written on him making a “V” for victory with one hand, while putting his other hand around the shoulders of a man with “The Palestinian people” written on him. Palestinian Media Watch has reported on harsh PA and Fatah criticism of Hamas’ use of civilian areas to store explosives and weapons. Hamas does this knowing that Israel goes to great lengths to protect Palestinian civilians and refrain from bombing such areas.

Are Palestinian mothers (and fathers too) genuinely happy for their children who died as “Martyrs” and had “weddings” to the 72 virgins of Paradise instead of funerals? Or are they just keeping up appearances?

\n\n

There’s no way of knowing, but one thing is certain: Expressing joy over a Palestinian child dying in terror attacks and violent confrontations with Israel is what the PA expects and demands of its people. One of the ways the PA promotes this is by broadcasting the parents’ statements repeatedly in official PA media. Palestinian Media Watch has been exposing this since the beginning of the PA terror campaign – the second Intifada - in October 2000. PMW’s first report on the PA promoting child Martyrdom entitled “Wajdi, a 14-year-old: “When I become a Shahid [Martyr], give out cake," published already in November 2000.

\n\n

This PA practice of promoting child Martyrdom and pressuring parents to support it continues until today. The following are a few recent examples of statements of joy by mothers whose sons died “as Martyrs” – statements that the official PA TV chose to broadcast to the Palestinian public. Note that the parents’ references to the Martyrs’ weddings are based on the Islamic belief that a Martyr for Allah marries 72 “dark-eyed”, i.e., the Virgins in Paradise.

After an explosion in Gaza City last month, the PA and Abbas’ Fatah Movement and others have criticized Hamas and other terror organizations in the Gaza Strip for their disregard for human life and use of civilians as human shields.

Hamas’ use of civilians as human shields is not new. Palestinian Media Watch has exposed Hamas’ abuse of its civilian population numerous times, for example during the 2014 Gaza war. Then Hamas openly and intentionally demanded that civilians ignore Israel's warnings prior to airstrikes targeting terrorists hiding among civilians, and taught Palestinians that they “love death for Allah” so that Hamas could use them as human shields for their fighters and rocket launchers.

After the recent explosion, an editorial by the official PA daily likewise criticized Hamas for many systematic human rights abuses, in addition to storing weapons and explosives among civilians, thereby using people’s homes and markets as shields:
