The IDF announced today that Capt. Omer Neutra, a US citizen, was confirmed to have been killed on October 7, 2023 and his body was taken hostage to Gaza. Significantly, the Palestinian Authority fully supports Hamas' abduction tactics of October 7. Ever since Fatah – the PA's ruling party – kidnapped 8 Israeli soldiers in 1982 and exchanged them for 4,700 terrorist prisoners in 1983, it has talked about hostage-taking as a legitimate tactic.

After Hamas succeeded in exchanging kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit for 1,027 imprisoned terrorists in 2011, including then Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas praised them:

Top Fatah official Jibril Rajoub emphasized that Fatah still celebrates the same terror tactics today. Rajoub confirmed that the release of all imprisoned Palestinian terrorists is what the PA/Fatah – just like Hamas – demand in exchange for the release of the Israeli hostages, who were kidnapped by Hamas and other terror organizations on Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas and other Palestinian groups murdered over 1,100 people and took some 251 hostages. 101 hostages, alive and killed, are still being held by Hamas:

Speaking on behalf of “the State of Palestine,” PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ advisor, Mahmoud Al-Habbash, called for a “new multipolar world order” at a conference in Russia last month. Al-Habbash explained that with the Islamic world’s potential to become a superpower, this new world order should comprise “the Islamic world, Russia and China.”

Al-Habbash’s rationale behind this new world order is so that “justice will prevail in human society” and to have a showdown with the “current world order lead by the US,” which is guilty of “all the crimes taking place in Palestine”:

On Russia Day last week, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas sent “blessings and wishes progress and prosperity” to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Abbas sent representatives to the Russian embassy in Mauritania where they stressed the great efforts “the State of Palestine” is making “to tighten the ties of friendship and cooperation with Russia.” [WAFA, official PA news agency, June 12, 2024]

China too is popular with the PA. Abbas sent representatives from his Fatah Movement to Beijing to participate in dialogue with a Hamas delegation. China has taken upon itself the role of mediator of Fatah-Hamas unity attempts. [Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida website, May 16, 2024]

Following the meeting celebrating Russia Day, Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov who later issued a statement ensuring continued Russian and Chinese cooperation to “unite Palestinian ranks.” The statement also stressed “the struggle against American and Western imperialism in general and its criminal plans in the Arab world and the Middle East region”:

Commenting on the current Gaza war between Israel and Gaza-ruling terror organization Hamas, a Palestinian sheikh explained that while the Israelis might seemingly be winning the war, according to Allah they are “destined for the Burning Fire” in Hell:

Following the PA official position, a regular columnist of the official PA daily turned history on its head and blamed Russia’s invasion of Ukraine for purposes of territorial expansion, on the United States. Earlier, a regular columnist of the official PA daily praised both Russia and China as powers able to “build a new world free of chaos and terror,” - somewhat ironic considering Russia’s conduct in Ukraine, and China’s toward the Xinjiang Province.

But Abbas doesn’t settle for writing letters. PA denies Jewish history in the land: “The occupier in our land has no memories. We remain here”

Abbas and the PA are getting ready to meet US President Biden. Abbas will probably say to him what PA leaders and officials always say to foreign leaders: That they only want a Palestinian state in the 1967 borders, or 22% of the so-called “historical Palestine." Abbas will stress that they want their capital to be in East Jerusalem and to live side by side in peace with Israel.

\n\n

But that is not what Abbas and other PA/Fatah officials say in Arabic to Palestinians.

\n\n

Despite the abundant archaeological evidence that proves Jewish history in Jerusalem in particular and in the entire area in general, the PA adamantly denies any Jewish historical bond to either. This falsification of history becomes the basis of the PA’s rejection of Israel’s right to exist in any borders.

A filler broadcast between programs by official PA TV since 2017 and continuing in July 2022 stresses this denial of Jewish history while it invents an imaginary Palestinian history prior to the modern period:

The PA’s Prime Minister, Muhammad Shtayyeh, reiterated this in a recent speech in which he referred to “the narrative war,” stating that Israel has invented the entire Jewish history in Jerusalem:

At the same event, PA Chairman Abbas spoke to Palestinians of “our defense of our religious and historical narrative against the defunct and false narrative of the occupation, which has no base, neither in the history, nor in reality, nor in international law.” He further added:

These statements by the two top PA officials and the messages above denying Jewish history published by the PA and Fatah join the other strong PA/Fatah statements documented by Palestinian Media Watch that completely deny Israel’s right to exist in any borders, as “Palestine” stretches “from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.”

When President Biden sits down with Abbas to discuss the PA’s desire for a state in the so-called “1967 borders,” “side by side with Israel” and its capital in “East Jerusalem,” his response to Abbas should be to demand that Abbas acknowledge in Arabic on official PA TV that Jews have thousands of years of history in the land and that Israel has a right to exist.

“Division according to areas and times” refers to a submission of a “private bill” by Israeli MP Uri Ariel in March 2003. The bill suggested ensuring freedom of religious worship by allowing both Jews and Muslims to pray on the Temple Mount - what the Palestinians call the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza. The bill sought to designate separate prayer times and areas of the site for Muslims and Jews. The bill never progressed past the initial legislatory stage. While there was additional discussion on the subject in 2012, no legislation was ever passed. 

\n\n

In response to the incessant PA claims that the “division according to areas and times” of the Temple Mount is an operative Israeli plan, former Israeli PM Netanyahu stated on many occasions that the Israeli government has no intention of ‎changing the so-called status quo on the Temple Mount, which de facto is interpreted to mean Jews are only allowed to enter the Temple Mount, but not to conduct individual or communal prayers there. 

\n\n

In July 2021, Israeli PM Naftali Bennett said Muslims and Jews have freedom of worship at the Temple Mount, which was understood by many as a hint to changing the status quo at the site, but the following day his office backtracked and said he misspoke and did not mean Jews would have freedom of worship, but rather would have freedom to visit. “There is no change in the status quo,” a statement from PM Bennett’s office confirmed.

Abbas’ advisor creates fear, anger, and hate - and incites violence:

At the International Conference for Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque (organized by the Directorate of Religious Affairs in Ankara, Turkey), PA Chairman Abbas’ Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations and PA Supreme Shari’ah Judge Mahmoud Al-Habbash repeated the libel that Israel seeks to harm all Muslims by destroying Islam’s 3rd holiest place, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the Dome of the Rock. He also made clear that for the PA, the conflict with Israel is not one over land and territory but is religious.

\n\n

Al-Habbash described the duty of the Palestinian people, which is to “defend” not only itself, Jerusalem, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque but nothing less than “Islam, the Quran, and the entire Islamic nation” from Israeli dangers:

Stating that for the defense of these things, Palestinians are prepared to die, Al-Habbash implicitly encouraged violence and terror, and further stressed that religion is at stake, envisioning that “Allah’s victory is approaching” and that “Jerusalem will again be free”:

During the month of Ramadan, official PA TV entertained viewers with different quizzes. One evident goal was to reinforce the PA’s vision of a world without Israel by presenting all of the State of Israel as “Palestine.” The answers of the participants, who were all residents of refugee camps, confirmed that the PA policy of denying Israel's right to exist in any borders – which Palestinian Media Watch has shown the PA has taught to Palestinians for decades - has become rooted in Palestinian consciousness everywhere.

Correct answers denying Israel's existence were rewarded by the PLO Department of Refugee Affairs with 20 Jordanian dinars, approximately $28.

In one quiz, a participant was asked about the borders of “Palestine.” Without blinking an eye, the man cited “the Mediterranean Sea, the Jordan River, Lebanon, and the Gulf of Aqaba” as borders, completely ignoring Israel's existence:

Recently, PA Chairman Abbas stressed the successful and harmonious coexistence between Palestinian Christians and Muslims, stressing that “Christians and Muslims fight together against their enemy (i.e., Jews/Israelis), because we have been the owners of this land since this land’s existence.”

But the mutual love and understanding only go as far as Abbas allows. If you are a Christian and stray from the path of “fighting the enemy” Israel, you will be punished.

\n\n

That is what happened to a Christian organization in Bethlehem a few days ago when it “dared to welcome” an “extremist settler” Jew. Following a visit by former Israeli MP Yehuda Glick who heads the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation and the HaLiba initiative – groups that advocate for Jewish rights to pray on the Temple Mount – the PA closed the Christian institution Beit Al-Liqa’ for a week and arrested the Christian head of the association while an “investigation” is being carried out:

Johnny Shahwan, who chairs the Christian Beit Al-Liqa’ association, is guilty of having simply met with Glick. The PA Supreme Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine claims that Shahwan’s “behavior harms the honor of the members of our Palestinian people” who is “fighting” to “defend” the Islamic and Christian holy sites from the “desecration” by visiting Jews:

An activist, Mundhir Amira, called on the PA to “punish everyone who was involved in the reception.”

\n\n

In an interview on Israeli television [Kan, March 9, 2022] Rabbi Glick, who is also a certified tour guide, said that this was his first meeting with Johnny Shahwan. He explained that he went to the Beit Al-Liqa’ premises to meet with a German group of tourists, some of whom he had met with and guided previously, and that his meeting with Shahwan was entirely incidental. He added that since Shahwan’s arrest, he has reached out to numerous people to request that they intervene on Shahwan’s behalf, but that all those he approached seemed to be afraid of enraging the PA.

\n\n

Meeting with Yehuda Glick has proven disastrous for Palestinians in the past. In 2017, Muhammad Jaber, a Hebron resident, was arrested by the PA after meeting with the right-wing politician, then MP.

\n\n

Rabbi Yehuda Glick is the Chairman of the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation that works to increase awareness of the central place the Temple Mount and the Temple hold in Jewish heritage through educational activities and by encouraging people to visit the Temple Mount. In addition, he is the coordinator of the LIBA initiative - The Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount initiative whose goal is to obtain freedom and civil rights for Jews on the Temple Mount. On Oct. 29, 2014, Mutaz Hijazi, an Islamic Jihad member and released prisoner, attempted to assassinate Glick, who was seriously wounded in the attack.

The PA and its leaders misrepresent all of the Temple Mount as an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore, they vilify any presence of Jews on the mount as a "break-in." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock. Israeli police ban Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount because of threats of violence by Palestinians.

As part of the PA’s policy to demonize Jews, two hosts on official PA TV have distorted Jewish prayers as being “hostile” to Palestinians, “causing fear and terror,” and “cursing Prophet Muhammad inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

In the PA TV program From the Israeli Archive, the PA TV host misrepresented an Israeli news program about the Temple Mount and Jewish prayer there, claiming the Jews “cursed” Islam’s prophet Muhammad.

In fact, the Israeli footage shows former Israeli Minister of Agriculture Uri Ariel with a group of religious Jews at the Temple Mount plaza. Ariel is saying a biblical blessing from Numbers 6:26. Needless to say, the blessing contains no reference to Muhammad:
