PA Shari'ah Judge Abdallah Harb: "For 88 years, [the Al-Aqsa Mosque] was under occupation, oppression, and humiliation until Saladin (i.e., Muslim military leader) came and liberated the mosque. I say this so the Muslims will not be struck by depression due to this occupation (i.e., Israel), the long period, and the years – 56 or 76 years of occupation of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque… The cause of the Al-Buraq Rebellion (i.e., 1929 Arab Riots, 133 Jews murdered) was one of the walls of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. After it came the [1996] Tunnel Rebellion that was carried out for the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the metal detector incidents for the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Al-Aqsa Intifada, and the Al-Aqsa Flood, all for the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
